SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, NEW PROJECTS AND ENERGY SAVING

Interesting international collaborations grow in this latest era, among other with Lamborghini/Audi Group, and with an important Swedish shipyard for the construction of coast patrol boats, and a few layouts for the Thai and Indonesian markets. The projects go from a 30’ boat conceived with the Italian designer Bicego to a 70’ superyacht (featuring a performance standard up to 70 knots!) and to an innovative 85’ boat. The interior styling is always entrusted to professor Massimo Musio Sale’s skill. We are also designing a series of army boats, extremely fast and environment friendly, conceived for patrol. Meanwhile new scientific tests are carried out, like towing-tank tests, fluid-dynamics tests, analysis on self-propelled models and other tests enriching the already solid feedback on each project’s peculiarity. We also develop new research about the centres of gravity according to the hull’s efficiency and also about the relation between scale models and the correspondent “real boats” to enrich our database. For a famous shipyard owner Riccardo Mambretti is now working at a new 43’ leisure boat project, featuring exceptional performance and fuel distance: 60 knots top-speed and 45 knots cruising speed, with an up to 40% consumption reduction compared to similar boats with the same specs but a traditional Vee hull! The range can then increase up to over 70%, granting 500 Marine-Miles cruises: the whole with standard power and normal capacity tanks, any comfort on board and a fascinating slightly vintage design. We are also studying two new versions, “sports” and “eco”. Mambretti is meanwhile developing, in collaboration with a Swiss group, a project on planing boats with pure electrical power (non hybrid), in order to improve the present performance and range limits, for an extreme environment protection.
