A revolution is born: PDP SYSTEM           

The idea of the speed superiority of cats vs. monohulls keeps tormenting Riccardo Mambretti until, after long and thorough research on both, and combining the two hull shapes, he finally gives birth to the brand-new advanced “PDP SYSTEM” Vee-hull; almost invisible under water –and therefore not too visible to the non-expert’s eye- but revolutionary in its concept: his friend Fabio Buzzi has described it as “Columbus egg”. Long and strong tests now mark the way of this invention: scale boat models, small testing boats, real motorboats to be commercialized with standard engines. Even the safest inventions must be tested under the worst conditions, that is the hardest, even extreme tests, to grant the user the best safety and reliability, as well as speed performance, reduced fuel consumption and increased range. Being convinced of offshore racing being the best testing ground we have entrusted our professional drivers of UFO RACING TEAM with those strong tests on numerous boats, as reported by the records of the following years. Based upon his rich experience, Riccardo Mambretti also develops an instrument allowing him to state, in a few seconds, the performance of any boat designed with a V hull, in any length and any construction configuration. Jokingly christened “Velociraptor”.
